COMPANY PROFILE

Established in 1994, Smart Glove focused on manufacturing quality gloves for the medical and industrial sectors. Making headway into international markets, Smart Glove set up its very own Research & Development section to venture into polymer coated gloves. In Year 1995, due to the increasing and great demand for Nitrile Gloves in the Global Market, Smart Glove is fast in responding to the market needs by moving to the direction and concentration in producing Nitrile gloves. This is to ensure the great demand of Nitrile Gloves are met.

With a workforce of more than 1000 people, comprising highly qualified professionals and engineers, Smart Glove has successfully gained recognition for its efforts by being awarded quality standards of ISO9001, US FDA, Canadian MDR, ISO 13485, CE Marking, Compliance to Food Contact Regulation 2002/72/EC, requirement and Standard Malaysian Glove (SMG)

Mr Foo Khon Pu (Managing Director) - The person behind the success of Smart Glove

After obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Malaya in 1988, he started his career as Assistant Manager in the R&D Department of Goh Ban Huat Bhd. Mr Foo's involvement in the glove industry started in August 1992 when he joined Sri Johani Industries Sdn Bhd, a glove manufacturer as a Chemist and was later promoted to Factory Manager. In March 1993, he became a shareholder and director of Sri Johani Industries Sdn Bhd. Mr Foo has been one of the main driving force of Smart Glove Corporation Sdn Bhd, which has recorded tremendous growth in the company. With more than 22 years of experience in the glove industry, his sound technical knowledge and hands-on approach has taken Smart Glove to the fore front of the industry in terms of technical development of gloves and R&D.

Mr. ET Foo (Chief Operating Officer)

ET Foo graduated from Northern Arizona University with Bachelor Degree of Science in Electrical Engineering. In 1989, he was with AMD, as a Product and Test Software Engineer and also appointed as a key team member to help setup a factory in Bangkok in 1991. He has 4 years experience as Customer Quality Engineering Manager for Read-Rite Malaysia, he was appointed by the Managing Director to receive the first MD’s Award in 1995. In 1996, he was the Director of Quality Assurance in CAM Technologies Sdn. Bhd, he oversees the function of whole Quality Assurance department and also appointed as Management Representative for ISO 9000 & ISO 14000. Prior to Smart Glove Group, he was the Managing Director for MBM Global Sdn. Bhd for 8 years and as the Sr. Operation Director and Board of Director of M&J, Thailand for 2.5 years, M&J is a subsidiary of a listed company in Singapore stock Exchange. He has also experience in interfacing and manages multi-national company business account like Seagate, Maxtor, Panasonic, Hitachi, Conner, Western Digital, Omron and etc.

Mr. ET Foo overseeing on the whole operation of Smart Glove Group. Provide direction in corporate planning strategies and future operations. .

Dr. AK Wong (Rubber Technologist / Scientist)

Dr. Wong is a Rubber Technologist/Scientist by training and profession, he has 31 years working experience in the Rubber Industry. Graduated with a B. Sc. (1st Class Honours) majoring in Polymer Science and Technology from the National College of Rubber Technology , Polytechnic of North London (now University of North London) , UK in 1975 on a scholarship awarded by the Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia . He served the Institute for total of 13 years from 1975 to 1988 working on research projects relating to developing new forms of Natural Rubber, both dry and latex, such as by chemical modifications and their processing. Duty also included providing training and technical advice to rubber processing and rubber products manufacturers. During this period also obtained a PhD in Polymer Chemistry from the Imperial College, University of London in 1983. Spent the last 17 years of his active working life from 1988 to 2005 directly in rubber glove manufacturing working for 4 different companies. His working experience and expertise are in all areas and aspects of glove factories operation culminating with the role and responsibility as Head of Department of Production, R & D.
